Ahhh…the response!!!

Posted: February 8, 2007 in Uncategorized

As expected, Dora responded to my email off list. Wonder what the response will be? I did find one error I was typing so fast but oh well, can’t be perfect and when you’re doing it in notepad, there’s no speel chek.

“Day after day people die in Iraq because we invaded it.” People were dying in Iraq long before the war.

Along with other human rights organizations, The Documental Centre for Human Rights in Iraq has compiled documentation on over 600,000 civilian executions in Iraq. Human Rights Watch reports that in one operation alone, the Anfal, Saddam killed 100,000 Kurdish Iraqis. Another 500,000 are estimated to have died in Saddam’s needless war with Iran. Coldly taken as a daily average for the 24 years of Saddam’s reign, these numbers give us a horrifying picture of between 70 and 125 civilian deaths per day for every one of Saddam’s 8,000-odd days in power.
In other words, even accepting the Iraqis own numbers and the highly-suspect assertion that all were caused by US weapons, and discounting the numbers of humanitarian organizations, the civilian death toll has, in fact, fallen since the start of the war. Indeed, it has fallen precipitously.

Do you think Iraq was better under Saddam?
“Day after day babies and children around the world die because we have caused climate change,..” There is no agreement and no data that points to man being the cause of global warming. The earth is warming like it has for millions…even billions of years. Remember the 70’s when news articles were yelling about a coming global ice age? I do. http://www.reporterherald.com/Top-Story.asp?ID=6894
“…because we arrange the world economy to ensure they stay poor and we stay rich, ”
How so? What do you have that can back this statement up? If you make statements such as this, you must be able to support them.
“…because we lack the will to ensure they have food to eat, water to drink and medicine they need.”
Why is this a duty of ‘us or we’? What responsibilities do the governments in these affected areas have toward their citizens? Fact: Western countries had pumped trillions of dollars in to third world countries for the last
hundred years and it has largely been to no avail. Why? Because these third world countries are controlled by a various assortment of dictators and socialists and the aid only benefits them
and their followers. Look at what has happened in Africa. Countries horribly affected by the famines stretching back to the 80’s are still suffering despite private and public aid. Why? Most of these third world countries that have the most suffering also have unbelievable amounts of raw materials which could make them wealthy. But socialist and dictators do not want a wealthy, educated population. And back to an earlier question…how could we or why should we do this? Liberals like you don’t want us to intervene on behalf of the starving, poor, or victimized in other countries. Which takes me back to your argument as to why we ‘invaded’ Iraq. Why did we? My gas prices have gone up so cheap fuel is out. Why? What possible benefit other than to take out those that have plans to kill us.
“Where you see an immigrant I see a human being.” I too see a human being. And if that human being wants to live in western society and assimilate that’s fine. But they don’t assimilate. Their, and I’m talking about muslim immigrants in particular, want to take over. This is what they’ve said. They only believe in a caliphate world under sharia law. That’s why many want to kill us. It has nothing to do with particular leaders. Look what’s happening in France or Denmark. Those countries that have bent over backward welcoming immigrants from North Africa especially. Now even the police are afraid and outnumbered. Theo van Gogh was murdered over a film. A silly FILM? In Canada recently a province outlawed ‘honor killings’. What did the local muslims do? Ye’ll racism. How is it racist to tell a group that practices something abhorrent that it will not be tolerated? The head of CAIR in America has said publicly that he wants to see America under sharia law. And this just in today…a muslim leader who advocated beheading any muslim in the British army has been arrested for encouraging terrorism. This is the same guy, a leader in his community mind you, that has challenged British sovereignty in an East London neighborhood. That doesn’t bother you?
“Now I’m sure that I’ve upset people with my expression of how I see the world. You’re vision of the world is based on lies.”
What lies? I’ve refuted everything you’ve said with one exception only because I require specifics. I once believed as you. I have a relative by marriage that converted to Islam. I wanted desparately to believe the Islam is the religion of peace. It is not now, nor has ever been that. History bears that out. Modern events bear that out. That is the big lie and we can blame our elected officials for perpetrating it. Where ever there is unrest in the world, you will find Islam at its core. This is islam against Buddhists, Hindis, Christians, Sikhs, and pagans. That is the sad fact.

In my ivory tower of education I met people from all over the world. I am lucky enough to work in a truly multicultural environment. Go ahead and provide me with the evidence you talk of. I make my assertion based on my investigations but I am always willing to read more. I won’t send you my evidence because I’m sure you won’t want to be troubled by it. I have no desire to live under sharia law at all. While Islam is a growing influence within Europe there is no sign that sharia law is going to be introduced.
I’m glad you found my post disturbing. It was meant to be.
