This ‘n That

Haven’t blogged in a while. Been really busy. Had company, been painting, this ‘n that. But some things are likely to make my blood boil and provide me the impetus to write again. First off the bat was this article on Yahoo about some idiot named Geldof whining about the Goreacle’s Live Earth concert plans. Let’s make something clear: I don’t give a rat’s ass about the Boomtown Rats. They were a sucky band way back when and Geldof is a talentless hack that somehow parlayed his very minor league name recognition in to some humanitarian gig back in the ’80’s that has since garnered him a title or somethingortheother. Guess he was smart enough to realize he had less talent than your average petri dish so kudos to him for that. Oh…and all that Africa famine relief thing…how DID that work out? Problem solved? Why nooooooooooooo but I digress. Anyhoo…this NTH had some interesting things to say about Live Earth.

“But why is (Gore) actually organizing them? To make us aware of the greenhouse effect? Everybody’s known about that problem for years. We are all (expletive) conscious of global warming,” he said. (translation: I’m so flippin’ brilliant I was ahead of the curve on this whole ‘global warming/fear mongering’ schtuff but nobody listens to MEEEEEEEEEEEEEE Waaahhhhhhh.”

“I would only organize (Live Earth) if I could go on stage and announce concrete environmental measures from the American presidential candidates, Congress or major corporations,” he told the newspaper. “They haven’t got those guarantees, so it’s just an enormous pop concert or the umpteenth time that, say, Madonna or Coldplay get up on stage.” (translation: “I would only organize this if I could find a way to screw American industries and dictate to the American political system what to do…according to me.”

“Gore wrote the best-seller “An Inconvenient Truth,” and later starred in a documentary film of the same name that popularized the science showing a link between human carbon dioxide emissions and global warming.” Translation: Gore wrote the best-seller “An Inconvenient Truth” which was bought by scads of nutter butters. Gore later starred in a schlockumentary feelm of the same name that popularized the junk science showing a hypothetical link between human CO2 emissions and global warming which was quickly devoured by nutter butters everywhere because of the double whammy that it was in print AND on feelm and therefore MUST be true.

Celebrities…gotta love ’em

And in today’s Rocky Mount TellaLie….this gem of an article. The whole thing is just bollocks. Why the bloody hell am I supposed to feel sorry for some mouth-breathing piece of crap that doesn’t have the decency to even stay in school? Why are taxpayers in NC forced to pay for her housing, food, clothing, and a wide array of mental health services?

Journalists do their readers a great disservice by not at least mentioning that the ‘government’ referred to when talking about all these services Ms. Wiggins receives is really from taxpayers. The ‘government’ does not provide these services. The ‘government’ forces taxpayers to provide funds for services and goods. And journalists wonder why people become upset when liberals talk about raising taxes. It just seems so much easier and sanitary when ‘government’ is used instead of picturing your neighbor or the guy down the street that has worked 70 hours per week to build his plumbing business only to have 30% of his income confiscated to pay for this type of irresponsible behavior. If I showed up at your residence and demanded money for rent, then went to your neighbors and demanded money for food and on down the street every month, you’d slam the door, call the cops and rightly so. But when the ‘government’ does it…it’s OK?

She has one child in foster care, another a month old and your article seems to request readers feel pity for this woman. If I have an alcoholic relative that I buy booze for I’m an enabler. Taxpayer provided support for individuals that make bad decisions ad nauseum is enabling too but on a more reprehensible level. It is taking money from those that have worked hard to earn it and could probably use if for their families and giving it to those that have done nothing but live as if they are owed something. Any mistakes they make someone else will clean up. Past a certain point in life there is something called responsibility. Ms. Wiggins has no personal responsibility and at this rate, it’s doubtful she will ever have any. Like that little fire about three feet high…it just burns me up.
